Courtney Wayment, a senior at Brigham Young, won the women's invitational 3,000-meter steeplechase in 9:31.37 in her first time competing in the event since 2017 at the Fresno State West Coast Relays at Veterans Memorial Stadium at Buchanan High in Clovis, Calif. Wayment elevated to the No. 5 all-time collegiate competitor after running 10:04.43 at Stanford four years ago. She became the top American performer this year and No. 2 in the world, in addition to ascending to the No. 19 competitor in U.S. history.
